Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification
ITI Electrician trade candidates need a full-time ITI certificate in the Electrician trade from a recognised institute. Diploma candidates need a full-time Diploma in Electrical or Civil Engineering, and Graduate candidates need a full-time Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical or Civil Engineering, all from a recognised board/university.
Age & Other Conditions
Candidates must be Indian citizens and at least 18 years old on the date of application. The qualifying examination must have been passed within two years of the closing date of the application (i.e., between September 11, 2024 and September 10, 2026). Candidates who are currently undergoing or have previously completed any apprenticeship, or who have more than one year of work experience, are not eligible under the Apprentices Act.

Selection Process
There is no written examination or interview for POWERGRID Apprentice engagement. Selection is based purely on the merit of qualifying examination marks, followed by document verification and a medical fitness check. On completion (or during) the apprenticeship, candidates have no claim to regular employment with POWERGRID.
